Day 303: Sweepstakes

I was trying to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win a trip to Paris from some boxed quiche company. All I had to do was answer 3 simple questions and if they were correct, I'd be eligible to win. The only problem was that the answers to the questions were printed on the back of the box. Those tricky sons-of-guns wanted me to actually buy their product? No way. I did however go through the trouble of driving to the store to try to search for the quiche box so I could read the answers and go home to enter the sweepstakes. Sean and I looked around for the product couldn't seem to track it down, but we did find a bottle of sparkling apple cider and went home. I couldn't enter that particular sweepstakes (I still tried though. I just made up answers and submitted) so I found a sweepstakes that was less demanding. I found one from the Little Debbie corporation that needed nothing more than some name and date info and an email address. The prize was a stocking full of electronics like an iPad, Gameboy, headphones and whatnot. If you want a shot at the gadget giveaway click here. I doubt I'll win, but there's always a chance.

Day 171: Play The Powerball Lottery

I had done the "buy a Powerball ticket" thing way back when I was still doing the "be a vegetarian" thing but my luck was elsewhere cause I didn't win so I couldn't retire early. But then someone told me that you could actually pick your own numbers and enter. I was excited cause it just so happens that the number 25 (along with a few others) have been good to me in the past. So I got the little pamphlet and I filled out out my ticket, making sure to use only the best and luckiest numbers I could think of. Then I simply turned my ticket in to the man with the pierced face at the gas station and waited. I waited till the day after the drawing to look up if I was now insanely rich, but it seems as if there was a slight miscalculation with my lucky numbers. As it turns out, none of them were picked. It kind of sucks but on the bright side, I did just as well in the lottery when I picked my own numbers as when I just went with the numbers that the machine gave me. Oh well, I guess I'll get rich some other way.
