It's hard to find new fruits and vegetables to try when your this far into a year long project, but I seemed to strike gold today while I was in the produce section. This yellowish fruit caught my eye. It looked like a hybrid of a lemon, an apple, and a pear, and it was called a quince. I bought it at once and took it home to try. I was excited because it looked rather appetizing, but I quickly learned that I was mistaken after the first bite. It was awfully bitter and dry, almost like a crab apple. I had to wash down the aftertaste and dispose of the fruit. It may have been a terrible taste, but at least it was a new one.
